Individual demands come and go (28-30 different Charities) but our perennial target is to support “Catching Lives” with is a Homeless Charity based in Canterbury, Kent. One facet that sets Catching Lives above most is that any new “client”, off the street, gets to see a qualified therapist that same day. Not merely shelter. The majority of the U.K. Homeless have varying mental issues and this is a crucial difference for us. www.catchinglives.org
A list of other noteworthy Charities, starting with Mothers-2-Mothers; Charlie Waller Memorial Trust…will follow soon.
Before Easter we lost the youthful (aged 61) Father of the young Tom Bradley that worked part-time some years for us at Huntsworth. So not just one of our nicest customers but one of the Family. I lost my Step-Father at the exact same age and to the same pernicious illness. From skiing at the start of the year to not surviving Easter was quite a shock.
The following half-a-dozen wines have been pitched in by us or by others so please bid, even the approximate market price as any result will duly benefit the worthy “Pancreatic Cancer U.K.”. If you have the optimum bid, you get the wine, the Charity gains the financial bid. The Lots are already donated so if a Magnums is valued at £ 100 and you bid £ 50, that is still £ 50 to the Charity. I know you will get asked regularly but aside of a good cause to me and a few friends, you will enjoy a good bottle.
