It was early summer 2017 that I last did my sponsored swim of 333 lengths and you very kindly helped add to a total of in excess of £ 10,000! On Friday 3rd January I managed to complete exactly 500 lengths. So thank you kindly to one and all.
This year we will encompass those two perennial and ongoing in: “Catching Lives”, a Homeless Charity based in Canterbury and supported tirelessly by a remarkable man (T.L.C.), who happens to be one of our biggest Bordeaux suppliers.
Then “Mothers-2-Mothers”, an A.I.D.S. educational Charity in Africa which is supported by several Huntsworth customers (M&C; D, C…) , both here in London and across the globe. The statistical success of this charity is remarkable.
Then my son is flying, next summer, to Nepal to visit “Global Action Limited” to help some of the poorest and most vulnerable individuals and their communities. The aim of this expedition is to provide safe drinking water by installing the community's first piped drinking water systems which will dramatically reduce infant mortality rates and disease, and to build new school classrooms and to help educate several large groups of Nepalese children about hygiene and personal health.
And fourth and finally “Just-1-Life” which has morphed from a charity that we fund-raised for back in 2013-2014 and that was and is supported by more Huntsworth customers here in Kensington and also St-John’s Wood (A&J; H&J…) so our swim will go to these four causes.
Thus far I have circa £ 9999 pledged or paid.
Given that JustGiving and Facebook etc. appear to charge an arrangement fee, I have decided to gun for direct donations to me, which I will then transfer (at no cost, obviously). In addition I propose to personally add 10% to whatever any and all might give. But if anyone donates ten million, I might struggle with the one million! For transparency, everyone pledging and donating will have their own sequential reference number, with initials (if you like) which will be quoted (regularly updated) below on this page. Thus, donations can be properly tracked until we finally contribute to these four noteworthy causes.
