Wine Tastings

We regularly host private and corporate tastings. These will be completely tutored to your needs, recent tastings have included: Right Bank vs Left Bank Bordeaux; France vs Rest of the World; White Burgundy vs New World Chardonnay; and a tour of Champagne. For our formal sit-down tastings, we can accommodate up to 12 people, with 10 being the perfect number as one can sit comfortably around the same table. For our monthly casual tutored tasting evenings aimed at a slightly younger audience, the shop is totally cleared to accommodate circa 40 people standing. We will close for your tasting from 7.30 p.m. onwards, be it lasting 2 hours or 5 hours.
~
The price for the sit-down tastings start at a minimum of £1,250 and for this you will get around five or six pairs of wines, with each pair increasing in quality and price. The food offering is obviously second to the wine, but rest assured you will not leave hungry. A selection of cured hams (£15.50 per kilo, generally retailing at £40 per kilo) will be provided along with an assortment of cheeses and breads from Sally Clarke’s (passing on our 20% trade suppliers discount). We normally finish off with homemade cupcakes, and to clear the palate - a glass of Champagne or even Yquem!
~
Unlike other companies we do not charge you for our time or for the evenings use of the shop, the money spent on the tasting will go 100% on the wine, with any food charged at cost. This, of course, means you get particularly good value as the same wines enjoyed in a restaurant would most likely cost 3 or 4 times the amount.

"The tasting was great fun, a treat and an education" S.G of South Kensington

"This is exceptional value for money. I cannot think of a better evening with friends, great food and exceptional fine wines being guided by a most humorous and entertaining wine connoisseur." Anonymous German, Kensington

“Great wine and good company (and that includes Tuggy!). If I have a wine cellar where I can sit down with my friends, enjoying a few choice bottles it will be like this. Not to mention the cupcakes, which was delicious!”T.W.

“Wine tasting evenings at Huntsworth are always both entertaining and informative. Tuggy has helped me put together a few very different tasting events, and has always had great suggestions on how to structure the evening. Great anecdotal stories, and the ‘front room’ atmosphere inevitably lead to a bit of off-piste browsing from the shelves! Looking forward to my next one! – Chris, Hillgate Village

“Tuggy Myer (sic) delivered an outstanding evening at a Wine Tasting event I hosted in his Shop.
The France V the rest of the world theme was enormously good fun, mixed in with some usual Tuggy Banter. My guests hadn't had so much fun in ages!!!  Well done that man!!” J.P. of Holland Park

I had the pleasure of enjoying 4 wine tastings evenings with you and I hope I get the opportunity of many, many more. The ability to tailor the evening to the wines the group was interested in enjoying, tasting and learning about really made for a special occasion. To be able to sit in your lovely store, have the place to ourselves and sit back with friends was superb. Tuggy makes a great host and ensures a wonderful evening. Lastly, you could not re-create the experience for the price anywhere, let alone in London. Until next time.” Nick, Australia.

" Tuggy organized a wonderful evening for my wife and me plus 6 friends. The wines were of very good quality and carefully chosen for variety and origin. Tuggy's well informed commentary stimulated some  great conversation and everyone came away having had a thought provoking and enjoyable evening" Chris R.

“Wine tasting evenings at Huntsworth Wine Company are fun and educational. Our guest have told us that they have learned more about wine in their 3 hour wining tasting than reading books or articles on wines.” Bill V., America

“Tuggy is a splendid host whose selection of wines, infectious enthusiasm and deep knowledge make for a memorable evening.” Stewart, Canada
